Burns Night is celebrated on 25 January each year. It is one of the most important festivals because it commemorates the birth of Robert Burns, the national bard (poet) par excellence of the Scottish community. Among other reasons, his popularity was due to the fact that people could identify with his works, as he remained poor for much of his life.
This night is intended to celebrate various Scottish traditions. It is a celebration of Burns' language, dialect and poetry. It is also an opportunity to come together and wear the traditional Scottish costume, the kilt, and Celtic symbols. "An important aspect of this culture is friendship among different people's cultures," says Donnie Nicolson, a bagpipe player, musician and singer based in Barcelona.

The Venue Steakhouse, a Scottish restaurant on Carrer de Roselló 365 in Barcelona, has celebrated the holiday with a menu of traditional Scottish dishes. Firstly, the Cullen Skink Soup, made of smoked fish soup with potatoes and leeks. Secondly, the traditional Scottish dish, Haggis neeps and tatties (with a vegetarian option and whiskey sauce). Finally, an apple pie and the whole menu accompanied by whiskey, wine and beer.
