Scotland is a country rich in nature and, as a result, has lots of hiking trails and mountains. One of them is the West Highland Way, a route of approximately 154 km (96 miles) that runs from Milngavie to Fort William. Walkers can pass through different Highland landscapes, passing through Drymen, Inversnaid or Bridge of Orchy.

“The trail takes you over moors that stretch on forever, and the locks are beautiful. It's a tough place; the land is fierce, but the people are great fun,” explains Michelle Cole, a hiker who has completed the West Highland Way and is at the end point, Fort William. "The walk was challenging in parts, but only slightly technical around Loch Lomond. You go up and down a lot, and you get to see a lot of the Munros, which are the mountains that are over 914 metres high," says Cole. In addition, you can buy a small notebook, which is similar to a passport, with which hikers can stamp the sites they pass through at official points along the way. “There's an intensity to Scotland, that's why I say it's epic, because everything here is full-on, like 'ts a 100% the real thing”, concludes the walker.

On the other hand, there are also many alternative routes and valleys to explore, such as the Glen Etive, an area that is surrounded by several Munros, like the Buachaille Etive Mòr. Also, Arbroath's Seaton Cliffs are seascape that you can walk around and see the sea life.

There are also many trails for the whole family, like the Fairy Pools. They are very popular because they are waterfalls that join together. These natural pools are surrounded by the Cuillin Mountains. Therefore, the place is related to the Celtic tradition and its name includes one of the mythological characters, fairies, who is supposed to live in this kind of hidden sites.
