Although pubs are known worldwide, there is a large concentration of them in the British lands, of which Scotland is one. In ancient times, these entities had an important social function, where trade and meetings were held, as well as gatherings of friends. It is a place where you can enjoy food and beers in the form of pints and Scotch whisky. The country's weather often makes outdoor activities difficult and pubs organise quizzes, sing-alongs, such as folk, and dances, like ceilidh, to ensure that customers have a good time. Pubs are commonly known throughout the country, although there are pub chains especially in the big cities, such as Weatherspoon, but traditional pubs can also be found, especially in smaller towns, for example Stirling.

One of the most iconic pubs in the town, as it is also right next to one of the busiest clubs for students of the University of Stirling, is The Cold Beer Company. The manager explains that it was originally Stirling's old post office and then the Morrison brothers bought the premises, renovated it and converted it into a pub, which 10 years ago was bought by Bellhaven to transform it. "It's currently the only sports in Stirling," says the manager, says the manager. “There are other pubs that do show sport but we're currently the only site that has the availability to show multiple sports events at any given time” and, for this reason, people can approach the staff and ask for the sporting event they want to watch. The pub manager says that what he enjoys most about working at The Cold Beer Company is the atmosphere that is created when there is a special sporting event, such as the Superbowl.
“Sometimes it's not easy to understand what I'm saying, so I try to speak more slowly, but there was a gentleman who came up to the bar and asked me if I wanted a double or a single bottle. He looked at me and, without thinking, replied: ‘I'm single’," explains the manager laughing. He also recalls that, when managing a place like this, it is key to be consistent and always keep the standards high.
